ok, so my work is having a holiday party and is having a team building thingy. they play some "fact match" game where your supposed to put down three facts about yourself and then everyone is supposed to try to guess who you are. i guess it's like that old game show where they got has-beens and relatives of has-beens and they told things about themselves and you had to guess who they were. ("are you related to the guy that invented disposable diapers?") but i don't think there are any money prizes. anyway. it doesn't sound like much fun but i thought maybe i'd give you all a chance tell me some "facts" about me that i might like to include in the game. i put the word facts in quotes on purpose but still try to make them somewhat truthful (a little exaggeration to get your point across is ok). alright, get to it!

can sombody please tell me how it is not a monopoly to have only one gas company and one electric company (now owned by the same company) operating in an area. with no choice, no competition, they can essentially do what they like with regards to customer service. what insentive do they have to show up when they make appointments? why do i ask, you ask? well, here is the thing. it's my last week of work at the Fogg Art Museum and i'm trying to finish up a ton of work. N-star scheduled an appointment for this morning (the next available appointment being the week I start my new job so i booked the appointment). What they didn't tell me is that they would call me fifteen minutes before the appointment and then not show up if the got no answer. in fact, they never even verified that they had the correct phone number on my account. of course, they did not. they had my old phone number. so they didn't show up. i was here. i sat here all morning not getting done all the work i need to do at the Fogg. i called and now they want me to wait all afternoon or schedule another appointment for three weeks from now. people do work, right? i mean, it's bad enough they can give you a five hour window of time when they might be there. ok. so thanks for letting me rant a bit. sorry. next stop, my congressman,? yeah, right.
